Matthew Cooke: Reasons the Establishment Must Replace Biden To Defeat Trumpism

By Matthew Cooke

Reasons the establishment must replace Biden to defeat trumpism.
1. Trumpism promotes racism, violence and militarism.
The current president is financially and politically prioritizing the backing the ongoing massacres of Palestinians and blocking the peace deal which requires a permanent ceasefire.
And he purposefully conflates anti-Semitism (which is real) with the multi-cultural anti-apartheid movement that includes an enormous number of Jewish people. That is gaslighting, increases confusion, anger, fear, which increases violence, and is actually anti-Semitic.
2. Trumpism will accelerate the climate disaster.
The current president has not declared a climate emergency and continues to support fossil fuel industries which need to be rapidly replaced.
3. Trumpism prioritizes tax cuts for the wealthy.
But the current president has not addressed the housing crisis and the cost of living conditions which requires strong antitrust action against the fortune 100s monopolizing markets, causing inflation and stifling competition, innovation and meaningful work.
4. Trumpism knows how to manipulate a gossip-driven national media.
The current president and his administration do not have an understanding of the digital platforms and the dire need to regulate, breakup monopoly control over our communications and establish a digital bill of rights.
Instead the Democratic establishment wants to ban tik tok on behalf of a right-wing foreign lobby (AIPAC).
5. Trumpism wants to control women's reproduction but abandons children once they're born.
The current president has not addressed the significant healthcare, parental leave, child care and education needs that represent our true national security and instead has been prioritizing military expenditures that fail every adult.
6. Trumpism serves the super wealthy. And he is packing the courts with corrupt bribe-taking sycophants to big business and religious extremists.
But the current president and his administration are also beholden to special interests and take corporate money.
And he has failed to expand the court.
7. Trump is a pathological liar. The current president is a habitual liar.
8. Trump is deeply uneducated, irrational, unstable, and a liability.
The current president slurs his words, forgets what he's talking about, is not in his prime and instead of inspiring confidence, appears like a figurehead.
9. Trump is an abomination and that story should not be overshadowed by a democratic establishment and their donor's wish to have a predictable puppet president.
10. The Dem establishment using the Trump presidency to fundraise and distract from their own faults is a terrible and cynical reason not to replace the current president through a proper democratic primary that respects the national interests.
It's hard not to see the current president's age and condition as a symbol of the establishment's refusal to embrace the need for a new and different path.
And this is what "centrist" means. It means we do not have a proper opposition party to militarism-classism-separatism.
Which means inch by inch we continue to shift further and further to the right - less democracy, less accountability, less social services, less of the smart regulations that lead to a free market where the best ideas and work can thrive for all our benefit.
The press must also do their job (which is not in the interests of their owners) and platform the other candidates for president who all have a far better command of the issues and current state of humanity than the two on reality-tv last night.
