This is such a deep and tragic truth of the fall of the American Empire that is unfolding today. The shadow side of our country is glaring in all of its horrors and suffering, ignorance and delusion, dehumanization and polarization, greed and corruption, and the countless other faces of violence.
That which has caused so much harm for so long is now accelerating its own demise. AND a new world is trying to be born out of the ashes.
May we all be joined together in solidarity and commitment to doing our part, whatever that is, in exposing what has been denied, ignored, and minimized that has been at the root of endless suffering, death, and destruction for so very long. bell hooks has accurately called it “imperialist white-nationalist capitalist patriarchy.”
AND may our embodiment of Fierce Love increasingly strengthen within us both individually and collectively. This is what holds the potential to empower us to weather the painful storms and traumatic times that are upon us. Together we are asked to participate in birthing a radically different world, one which cares for all of life. We are all needed, all in this together, all family.
