John Maynard Keynes: When the Accumulation of Wealth Is No Longer of High Social Importance

Among my deep ongoing prayers is for our individual and collective awakening. May we be courageous enough to do the illuminating work of lifting the fog of our illusions and ignorance and instead come to see new possibilities and new stories to live by. These will be the stories with deep roots in honoring, sustaining, and nurturing life rather than destroying it. Another world is possible. - Molly

When the accumulation of wealth is no longer of high social importance, there will be great changes in the code of morals. We shall be able to rid ourselves of many of the pseudo-moral principles which have hag-ridden us for two hundred years, by which we have exalted some of the most distasteful of human qualities into the position of the highest virtues.

- John Maynard Keynes
