Why I Protest
I protest the incompetent leadership in the White House, especially in the Department of Defense, the Department of Education, and the Center for Disease Control.
I protest the crude manner in which our president speaks about individuals or to crowds, especially when speaking about people he dislikes or who did not vote for him.
I protest the pseudo-Christianity that covers over the immorality of our leadership with a thin veneer of religiosity.
I protest the cruelty of our government especially ICE and its brutal and reprehensible behavior toward immigrants, people of color, and others they simply don't like.
I protest the corruption of the White House that spends enormous time and energy doing private business making billions for Trump and family while on the payroll and expense account of our country.
I protest our government's callous disregard of government employees (civil servants), firing thousands without cause.
I protest the campaign of this administration to eliminate needed services for us and others around the world (medicine, research, and support for minorities) while diverting billions of dollars to build and maintain jails, prisons, and concentration camps.
I protest the unconstitutional usurping of power that rightly belongs to Congress, the Courts, the States, the Cities, and the people.
I protest the calculated indifference to the needs of the poor while spending time and energy courting the attention of the rich and supporting policies that help the rich and hurt the poor.
For these and many other reasons, I protest.
