For Today: The Much Needed Powerful Voices of Emma Goldman, Martin Luther King, Jr., Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and Paulo Freire

Today the President of the United States made it clear that he stands with the forces of ignorance, greed, and evil. To bow out of the Paris Climate Agreement, which was never enough in the first place, and then to go on and deny that humans have an impact on our warming planet, to deny the findings of 97% of the world's climate scientists, to side with and promote the propaganda of the Fossil Fuel Industry and mega corporate interests over the interests of humankind and the planet we share with all beings is the darkest of evil. These choices endanger all of life on Earth. Ignorance is no longer an option. Humanity must wake up, and we must wake up now. There is no louder message than the one I hear now that we must all stand together to crush those forces of suffering and death and destruction and instead commit with everything we have to work toward a healing, sustainable, and sane world which cares for all. - Molly

The most violent element in society is ignorance.
- Emma Goldman

Our lives begin to end the day we become silent
about things that matter.
- Martin Luther King, Jr.

If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you
have chosen the side of the oppressor.
- Archbishop Desmond Tutu

Washing one’s hands of the conflict between
the powerful and the powerless means to side
with the powerful, not to be neutral.
- Paulo Freire
