A story for my grandchildren, as told in the year 2070. Filmed entirely within a 1km radius of my parents backyard during the COVID 19 crisis on the stolen and occupied homelands of the Saugeen Anishinaabeg. Thank you to the cedars of this place, medicine of this time. Made as a final project for INDG 3105 : Indigenous Orality at Trent University. “We are what we imagine. Our very existence consists in our imagination of ourselves. Our best destiny is to imagine, at least, completely, who and what, and that we are. The greatest tragedy that can befall us is to go unimagined.” -N. Scott Momaday Thank you Joeann for bringing these words - and so many more - into our consciousness, and for challenging us all to dream and to look beyond the lie. Soundtrack is The Southern Sea composed by Garth Stevenson.
