For My Grandson Oliver

Sometimes there are no words. Holding this new life tenderly, softly, quietly, and with love beyond description. Looking, looking into this little face, touching his soft skin and his soft head full of brown hair, taking in his sweet smells and delighting in the most minute sounds. A miracle, this heaven that is this new soul and the beginning of a new generation to our family.

Oliver is now five days old. When I first asked Marita his weight, she responded and I then asked her again, thinking she was joking when she said "nine pounds, ten ounces." But she wasn't! A big boy! With features so beautiful, so perfect, so mesmerizing that it is hard to stop staring at this amazing being. Sometimes there are no words which truly touch the depths of love that one little human being can bring to his amazing parents, to his family, and to all who love him.

Precious. Oliver is precious. Life is precious. Welcome to the world, Oliver! Welcome to the exquisite world of parenthood, Brian and Marita! Blessed be!

With great gratitude & love,

Molly, aka "Grammie"
