My Son Kevin's YouTube Videos of Snowboarding and a UFO ... and more....

Warm Wintry Greetings

We have had quite the winter so far here in the beautiful Northwest. There were times that I felt like I was back in my Midwestern childhood home in Michigan. Only the streets were much flatter there. And in Michigan there were actually enough plows to go around. Here I waited day after day for the snow plows to make it to my little culdesac - but they never came. And they never came for just about anyone who lived on anything other than a main road. Crazy!

So our biggest storm in 40 years - that actually broke all the old records - brought layers of snow, then ice, then more snow - a good foot and a half or much more, depending on where you lived. Then there was the East Wind, which blew fiercely, bringing the full-force-below-zero-Arctic-chill-feeling and HIGH drifts with it. And, with the shortage of snow plows or effective ways to respond to emergencies, a State of Emergency was declared and the National Guard was called in. The mail wasn't delivered for one week, with Christmas falling in the middle of it all. I was snowed in - along with thousands of others - for several days. All DHS branches were closed December 22nd, something that I believe only happened one time 18 years ago. When I did venture out, the ice reached up and pulled my feet out from under me and I ended up doing THE hardest fall on my tailbone in 35 years. But there was also indescribable beauty and great fun to be had, too!

Each of my three sons demonstrated their wonderful uniqueness by enjoying the winter wonderland in their own ways. Matt (21) rode around on his girlfriend Lisa's family's ATV quads in rural Gresham. (Lisa actually lives in Boring, but who - other than an Oregonian - would believe that a town might be named "Boring"?) Brian (29) cross country skied in the surrounding Portland neighborhoods that he and Tiffany live in. And Kevin (26) snowboarded down the big hill he and his wife and all their four-leggeds live on in Oregon City, a suburb of Portland. Kristin, my daughter-in-law, filmed one such flying trip down the big hill in front of their home:

Moving right along from snowboarding and snow storms to UFO's, here's my son's YouTube website, which also includes Kevin's second video - this one of a UFO lightship he filmed from his neighborhood in Oregon City several weeks before the great snow:

Kevin also has several links to didgeridoos on his YouTube starseed311 website because he plays - and has just started making! - extraordinarily beautiful and beautifully playing didgeridoos. My son made his first didgeridoo from a good-sized branch he found last September in the Strawberry Mountains of Eastern Oregon - and he did a totally amazing job! Kevin is creative, athletic, poetic, psychic, sweet, handsome, very big-hearted, and definitely a young man of many gifts. You may think I am a bit biased due to being his mom, but it really is true. :-)

Many Blessings,

Molly

Inner Space

Close your eyes.... See nothing.... Perceive everything.... Be calm and quiet....
listen to nothing.... but hear everything....... Feel.... not with your skin,
but with your soul..... feel that which is non-physical.... dance with it...
sing with it.... play with it.... smell the inner space in the multidimensional air.....
allow the familiar smell which has been under your nose for so long to activate
your brain and connect it with your genetic mind.... Embrace the desire to break
free from the cocoon.... Feed from the beauty of the forgotten light.....
Fly away in eternity and flourish in the vibrancy of your own true destiny.
