An excellent, spot on piece by my friend Lewis. AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM NARCISSISM

America is not an exceptional country. At some points in history, we exhibited some exceptional courage, compassion, and strength, but today it is run by a psychopathic narcissist. There is a gold-foil-lined hole in our American Soul, the size and shape of the current, bloated occupant of the White House.

The Hole in our Soul cannot be filled or satisfied by acquiring other countries. It cannot be filled with exhaustive executive orders for this or that. It cannot be filled with Truth Social rants. It cannot be filled by Big Macs. It cannot be filled by ass-kissing acolytes bending to the narcissist’s infinite desire for attention and appreciation for things he has never done and has no capacity to do. It cannot be filled by creating a fictional Christian nationalist, racist, bigoted population. It cannot be filled by making America white and enlarging the hole by torturing, killing, and deporting the best of our people. It cannot be filled via AI, capitalism, and the ever-widening economic disparity. It cannot be filled by AI or anything artificial (the actual quality of a sociopath and narcissist, being artificial), and putting masses of our people out of work and unable to help and support each other proudly. It cannot be filled via a greed-based, profit-driven economy.

The Hole in America’s Soul can only be filled by empathy and compassion. It can be filled by taking care of each other and putting people, ALL PEOPLE, before profit, greed, hatred, racism, misogyny, and bigotry.

And obviously, since we keep promoting and insisting that America is exceptional, the opposite must be true, and the first step towards filling the Hole in our Soul is humility.

This is impossible for a narcissist. The narcissist in chief and all his narcissists in waiting must be voted out and held accountable for widening and supporting and gilding the Hole in America’s Soul.
