We Must Stand Up For Love
Let us stand up to hatred everywhere and with all people and in all places where violence, murder, suffering, rape, harm, is taking place. This is being fueled by hate, division, othering, judgment, lack of empathy, lack of standing up for our diverse humanity and our narratives that lead to decimation.
I have beloved Jewish friends— I have beloved Arab friends. I have beloved black, brown and indigenous friends. My friends are good people and their families are good caring people. No one deserves to die, especially over core identities that are part of one's culture and heritage.
The heart has eyes. Look deep. Terror moving afoot between human beings is fueled by hate. We must stand up for love. Simplistic as it is. These shootings, these wars, these arrests and deportations and causing children death or trauma, has got to become fully conscious. What is your part? To be silent is a choice. If you did not need to decide on who you would support, can you simply decide that hate itself is not tolerable for any of us? All of our people? Let alone our planet. Somewhere in me, the mother loves us all. I love you all. Every day this hurt — this harm — is toxic to all of life.
My friends who are most impacted, I see you and mourn by your side.
