To not hide from ourself

Is to learn that every wound

Within us

We once feared

Was a permanent fixture

Can open itself to be

Infused with love.

And in this giving up

Of these storehouses

Of distance

In our being

We for so long

Refused to know,

We are edified,

We are made more whole,

We experience a deep homecoming

And communion

With ourself and our one lover,

This ravishing universe.
