I grew up among people with guns. Most households in my community keep hunting rifles and other firearms, safely stored. Rural life sometimes calls for their use; I’ve been there. I have never, ever, seen a situation that could be improved by an AR-15.
Conservative friends and legislators, we have the brains to tell a handsaw from a hand grenade. Our laws draw a clear line between legal and illegal alcohol use; between safe and reckless driving. Good laws can permit guns that are useful tools, while keeping civilians away from those made solely for efficient human massacre. Pride of possession comes at a price. I can’t stand for one more child to pay it.
