Eddie Glaude: ‘What Are These People Voting For When They Vote For Donald Trump?’

The voice of Eddie Glaude is among the most important for us to listen to and absorb. Racism, patriarchy, and misogyny does indeed continue to plague our nation. We cannot heal and transform that which we don’t see and deny. 400+ years of denial has cost us dearly. We need to courageously open our eyes and hearts and embrace the Truth. We won’t move forward and heal the toxicity of what divides us until we do. I'm also moved to continue to recommend to everyone Eddie Glaude’s Begin Again: James Baldwin’s America and Its Urgent Lessons For Our Own. (https://www.amazon.com/Begin-Again-Baldwins-America-Lessons/dp/0525575324) This book is truly helping me to shed more layers of racism that I have blindly absorbed and grow increasingly conscious and empowered to be anti-racist.Molly

Eddie Glaude, the Chair of the Department of African American Studies at Princeton, joins MSNBC’s Craig Melvin to discuss election anxiety and Glaude’s one big question after Election Day: ‘What are these people voting for when they vote for Donald Trump?’
