A Disturbing Normalization of State Violence and Authoritarianism

Fascist aesthetics are back replacing the white sheets of the KKK with the hyper-masculine look embraced by the Nazi leadership.

"This man, who parades daily in paramilitary gear, is named Gregory Bovino. His coat, eerily reminiscent of a specific period when SS generals wore the same style, is chilling. He heads the U.S. Border Patrol and directs ICE operations in the Chicago area.

What he embodies—his uniforms, rhetoric, and practices—fuels a disturbing normalization of state violence and authoritarianism.

And despite all this, we are still told that it is “too soon” to talk about fascism in the United States."
