Trump & Deportations: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO)

I really appreciate my friend’s spot on commentary on this excellent show by John Oliver:

“They can't find enough criminals to deport, so they found a way to turn more people into criminals so that they can do so."

John Oliver, whose excellent segment on deportations is in the first comment of this post.

And to be clear, this is not just about the Trump regime. This is how the deportation machinery has been operating for years, especially since the creation of DHS and ICE.

This is why those of us on the abolitionist front have been asking people to question the criminalization process as a whole. The definition of "criminal alien" has kept expanding to absurd levels.

PS: I REALLY appreciate John Oliver calling out Dem leadership for its lack of action on all of this.
