45 Mass Shootings over the past month... since March 16

So many heartbreaking and horrifying symptoms of the collapse of the American Empire.

Death is everywhere in our country. In massive despair and depression and hopelessness. In the pathological defense again and again of gun culture. In endless wars and the weapons industry and worldwide militarism. In systemic racism and inequality and the prison industrial complex and pervasive injustice. In more Covid cases and deaths than anywhere else in the world. In our dangerously warming planet and species extinctions and the destruction of whole ecosystems. In the fossil fuel and nuclear industries and the relentless poisoning of the Earth. In the constant polarization and pitting of an us against an Other. In epidemics of addictions and distractions and disinformation and disempowerment. In political systems and government tied to Dark Money rather than the best interests of We the People and the planet. In tent cities and for-profit healthcare and the extreme redistribution of wealth upwards amidst crushing poverty. And on and on.

We need to birth a whole new way of being together — one which transforms greed into generosity, ignorance into consciousness, separation and polarization into connection and caring, the normalization of me culture into we culture and the awareness of all being in this together, and all forms of violence into a reverence and fierce protection of life.

May we be brave enough to do the deep work of opening the eyes of our hearts and working together to radically transform ourselves and this beautiful hurting world we share. — Molly
