George Monbiot: The Decencies We Owe To Other Human Beings

Another world is possible. Just imagine. I imagine healing, wholeness, sustainability, connectedness, kindness, compassion, courage, tenderness, beauty, joy, peace, wisdom, and love growing and spreading and flowing and radiating from the hearts and minds of human beings everywhere. I imagine a strong sense of awareness and skillfulness that is also brought to the challenges that life presents us so that we may learn and evolve rather than stay stuck in unlearned lessons and cycles that tragically repeat generation after generation. This capacity to evolve begins within each and every one of us. May we all increasingly engage in the heartwork that awakens us and heals our world. - Molly

The angry men know that this golden age (of fossil fuels) has gone; but they cannot find the words for the constraints they hate. Clutching their copies of Atlas Shrugged, they flail around, accusing those who would impede them of communism, fascism, religiosity, misanthropy, but knowing at heart that these restrictions are driven by something far more repulsive to the unrestrained man: the decencies we owe to other human beings.

- George Monbiot
