A Message From the Save Darfur Coalition: Please Be a Voice For Darfur

Just last month, ICC chief prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo bluntly told the U.N. Security Council: "The genocide continues."

The good news? The next U.S. president can end it. And if confirmed as secretary of state, Sen. Hillary Clinton will be a key leader in efforts to stop the violence.

Presidents act when movements of fearless citizens stand behind them. Over 200,000 activists have already written to President-elect Obama, insisting that he make Darfur a top priority. But it's not enough—we need the loudest and strongest possible show of support for a Darfur peace surge.

And help us add to this growing chorus of powerful voices for peace in Darfur. An opportunity like this may never come again. Tell five friends about the "Be a Voice" campaign and ask them to send their postcard before Sen. Clinton's hearings start Tuesday.

We have a moral obligation to do everything we can to help bring peace to Darfur. So please, ask your family and friends to join you in calling for Darfur to be a priority from Day One of the next administration.

Forces are converging in a way that makes peace in Darfur a real possibility at last. Now more than ever, our voices must be heard.

"I believe that to meet the challenges of our times, human beings will have to develop a greater sense of universal responsibility. Each of us must learn to work not just for oneself, one's own family or nation, but for the benefit of all humankind. Universal responsibility is the key to human survival. It is the best foundation for world peace." ~ H. H. the Dalai Lama
