Today we honor the world's Indigenous Peoples and celebrate their cultures, languages, knowledge, resilience, and contributions to humanity. From the Igbo, Maasai, and Tuareg of Africa to the First Nations, Inuit, Maya, Sámi, Ainu, and many others around the world.
Indigenous Peoples are the original inhabitants and custodians of their ancestral lands. Across generations, they have preserved languages, cultures, traditional knowledge, and sustainable ways of living that continue to benefit the world today. They represent thousands of unique cultures and speak the majority of the world's Indigenous languages.
Indigenous communities continue to enrich our shared human story. Let us commit to respect, recognition, and inclusion for all Indigenous Peoples.
