Some Thoughts On the Ultimate Tragedy

Sadly, living with illusions rather than consciousness, with the normalization of weapons and violence, with distorted and perverse values, with patriarchy and misogyny and malignant masculinity, with ingested and absorbed white supremacy and racism, with narcissist entitlement and the deadening of empathy and compassion, and on and on —  all of this and more are reflections of the different faces of what might be thought of as our collective mental illness and, to one degree or another, of the tragic disconnect from the wisdom of our hearts and who we humans most wholly are.
And, yes, the symptoms of this collective pathology and trauma show up in a plethora of symptoms, one of which is certainly illuminated in the image above.
It is my belief that all of us need to be engaged in the deep work of recognizing and lowering our tolerance for the countless faces of violence which are normalized and which permeate our culture.
Otherwise — and whether we know it or not — we are complicit with that which harms rather than that which helps, heals, and transforms the roots of so much suffering, violence, and devastation. 🙏 Molly
