Transforming Ourselves, Transforming Our World

The choices we each make,
consciously or otherwise,
to look within
or not,
to illuminate and embrace
or to ignore and deny
what needs healing,
to transform our wounds
into wisdom and wholeness
or  to never know the gifts
hidden in our suffering,
create profound ripples
beyond what any of us
can truly know.
May we each find
the courage to choose
care-fully....

Spiritual practice involves, on the one hand, acting
out of concern for others' well-being.
On the other, it entails transforming ourselves so that
we become more readily disposed to do so.

Washing one’s hands of the conflict between the powerful and the powerless means to side with the powerful, not to be neutral.

War and peace start in the human heart - and whether
that heart is open or whether that heart closes
has global implications.
