The Sacred Collapse
We're in a season of wailing,
joy will have its time.
First, let's take care
of this tremendous grief
that's been held
in humanity's chest
since time immemorial.
First, let's steward the aching,
the neglected,
the desolate shadows
so longing for tender touch.
We all need till the dark soil.
Demanding roses of ourselves
before this process
has had its place
is unrealistic.
Darling, relax
into your blessed falling.
The sacred collapse
precedes the flowering.
