Frontline Documentary: Trump's American Carnage

I watched this episode of Frontline this week: https://www.pbs.org/video/trumps-american-carnage-cgbssm/. I’m left without words... other than how important it is that we all know what happened and what we need to absolutely commit ourselves to and unite behind that is vital to our healing and transformation as individuals and as a nation. We still have a long ways to go. And this documentary illuminates this fact as it brilliantly and comprehensively condensed the past 5 years into 53 minutes. I share this Frontline documentary not to increase the trauma we’ve been through, but rather through knowing full well that we are in a long term process of not just recognizing and understanding what trump has done, but also by building conscious awareness of the roots of all that brought us trump AND healing and transforming THAT. Half the solution is understanding, deeply understanding, the problem. May truth, courage, fierce compassionate action, and justice on all levels prevail. We’re all needed and in this together. From his first days as president to his last, how Trump stoked division, violence and insurrection.

In the wake of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, FRONTLINE investigates how Donald Trump’s presidency laid the groundwork for bitter divisions, violence and ultimately insurrection. “Trump’s American Carnage” investigates Trump’s siege on his enemies, the media and even the leaders of his own party, who for years ignored the warning signs of what was to come. The documentary is from veteran FRONTLINE filmmaker Michael Kirk, who with his team has made five installments of FRONTLINE’s election-year series The Choice and nearly 20 documentaries about the Trump and Obama eras.
