Carl Jung: Making the Darkness Conscious

This is what I believe to be the deeper work of us all. ~ Molly

There is no coming to consciousness without pain.
People will do anything, no matter how absurd, in order to avoid
facing their own Soul. Filling the conscious mind with ideal conceptions
is a characteristic of Western theosophy, but not the confrontation
with the Shadow and the world of darkness. One does not
become enlightened by imagining figures of light,
but by making the darkness conscious.
