Clarissa Pinkola Estés: For All Activists In Our World

Dear Brave Souls: For all activists in our world who have struggled for years, for decades in matters aiding so many souls.. and made progress but not completion... yet. 

As I tell my sister and brother activists, we are somewhat like Moses wandering about in the desert for 40 years, leading a group of souls out of slavery. There are set backs and roll forwards. The entire journey is all of a piece.

We may or may not see the promised land... that is, the end result of all our efforts... but the souls of the world come closer and closer because many in our time, known and unknown, step up to take up the staff and 'the map made by no human hands,' and go forth with best visionary eye possible. 

I know many of you know what I mean by 'map made by no human hands.'

Let us continue, no matter what then, to rest as need be, but/and to rise up again and again... for it is not only for the cause, it is also be-cause doing so honors our ancestors who also took up the staff and the mysteriously made map that shows the ways out of being owned by soulless things. They made their progressions in our name, the yet unborn. Let us do likewise. There are set backs and roll forwards. The entire journey is all of a piece.

Above all, Dear Brave Souls, remember I say this to you, say it as many times as need be to solidify yourself/ myself/ ourselves: "Discouragement is the devil's strongest tool." 

Resist discouragement. Instead, assess where can I be most useful now, what can I add now, and where and how. Stand with, for, because, in spite of. But stand proud and productive. 

Many many souls are with you in spirit, both earthly and angelic. In our heartbreaking love of this earth and her human beings and creatures, and our desire to help, we are not alone. Please to remember...

that there is little ground that takes the seed from our hands without being cleared first of stones and then plowed and plowed and broken up with great effort day after day... 

Only then, comes the sowing... and also then come the weathers that hinder and help. It is all of a piece. Setbacks and roll forwards. Remember this and be strengthened. There are set backs and roll forwards. The entire journey is all of a piece/peace.
