WENDY BRITO IS NOT A THREAT. SHE’S A MOTHER. AND ICE TOOK HER.

WENDY BRITO IS NOT A THREAT.
SHE’S A MOTHER. AND ICE TOOK HER.

First it was Kilmar Abrego Garcia—a father detained without warning, labeled a danger, and targeted for deportation with no regard for his family.
Now it’s Wendy Brito.
A wife. A mother. A school volunteer.
A longtime New Orleans resident who spent 15 years navigating the immigration system the right way.
And then—without warning—she was taken.
No charges. No criminal record. No explanation.
Just a routine ICE check-in… and she never came home.
3 weeks detained. No reason given. No public answers.
Wendy is not invisible.
She’s not a file number.
She is a woman whose absence is felt in every corner of her home.
She’s the one who made sure everyone was cared for.
Who showed up for her children.
Who volunteered at McDonogh 26, their school.
Who brought calm, structure, and love into her family’s life every single day.
Now her husband is alone.
Her children keep asking:
“Why?”
And no one in power has answered.
Wendy Brito is not a danger.
She’s a mother who deserves to be with her family.
And she has already waited 15 years for this country to figure out her paperwork.
This is not due process.
This is punishment without explanation.
Her husband wants only one thing: to go pick her up and bring her home.
I spoke directly with Wendy’s husband.
What I’m sharing comes from our conversation—with his blessing.
This story deserves to be told truthfully and with care.
Say her name. Share her story. Help bring her home.
