John Welwood: Forget About Enlightenment

Because our spiritual community has just resumed in-person gatherings, today was the first time for my husband and myself to return to PIMC (Portland Insight Meditation Community https://www.portlandinsight.org/) since before Covid. After over two years, what a gift it was to be there once again! Also, it has been 8-1/2 years since Ron and I were married here by Robert Beatty. Deep thanks and gratitude to Robert for so much, including beginning our dharma gathering this morning with this beautiful offering from John Welwood. Blessed be. 🙏 Molly

 Forget About Enlightment

Forget about enlightenment.
Sit down wherever you are
And listen to the wind singing in your veins.
Feel the love, the longing, the fear in your bones.
Open your heart to who you are, right now,
Not who you would like to be,
Not the saint you are striving to become,
But the being right here before you, inside you, around you.
All of you is holy.
You are already more and less
Than whatever you can know.
Breathe out,
Touch in,
Let go.
