Rumi: Your Task is Not to Seek For Love

Perhaps the most important gift of awakening is this remembrance:

Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all
the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.

Attending to Our Hearts

“Perhaps our eyes need to be washed by our tears once in a while,
so that we can see Life with a clearer view again."

Pent up grief has profound costs to individuals, families, communities, nations, and all of life on this Sacred Earth we all share. We are all connected. The ripples we send out into the world matter. Deeply. May each of us increasingly and in an ongoing way find the courage and support that is needed to embrace what it is that needs attending in our own hearts. May we choose to do the inner work that is required to walk a Path With Heart.

"War and peace start in the human heart - and whether that heart is open
or whether that heart closes has global implications."

Heavy by Mary Oliver

That time
I thought I could not
go any closer to grief
without dying

I went closer,
and I did not die.
Surely God
had his hand in this,

as well as friends.
Still, I was bent,
and my laughter,
as the poet said,

was nowhere to be found.
Then said my friend Daniel,
(brave even among lions),
"It's not the weight you carry

but how you carry it -
books, bricks, grief -
it's all in the way
you embrace it, balance it, carry it

when you cannot, and would not,
put it down."
So I went practicing.
Have you noticed?

Have you heard
the laughter
that comes, now and again,
out of my startled mouth?

How I linger
to admire, admire, admire
the things of this world
that are kind, and maybe

also troubled -
roses in the wind,
the sea geese on the steep waves,
a love
to which there is no reply?

The End and the New Beginning

"And I would like to say that according to the Mayan Calendar the 21st of December marks the end of the time and the beginning of no-time. It is the end of the Macha and the beginning of the Pacha. It is the end of selfishness and the beginning of brotherhood. It is the end of individualism and the beginning of collectivism... the 21st of December this year. The scientists know very well that this marks the end of an anthropocentric life and the beginning of a biocentric life. It is the end of hatred and the beginning of love. The end of lies and the beginning of truth. It is the end of sadness and the beginning of joy. It is the end of division and the beginning of unity."

― Evo Morales, President of Bolivia to the UN General Assembly, 67th Session, 2012

Where There Is Great Love

Our greatest strength lies in the gentleness

Be with those who help your being.

Awakening the Eternal

The Sacred duty of being an individual is to gradually learn how
to live so as to awaken the Eternal within oneself.
